About Purdie’s of Argyll
Purdie's of Argyll is an organic toiletries company formed in 2004 in Argyll on the West Coast of Scotland. In 2017, Gavin Purdie assumed sole ownership of the company and in 2018, moved production into purpose-built facilities in Oban. Although our Oban shop closed in late 2018, the flagship Inveraray shop remains open all year round for visitors to see first-hand our steadily growing range of organic soaps and beauty products.
All Purdie's products are handmade in small batches using certified organic base ingredients – European COSMetic Organic and Natural Standard (COSMOS) and British Soil Association. Our essential oils come from a company with a long-established ethical stance in the industry. Using high quality ingredients with a verifiable provenance allows Purdie's to make unique and luxurious Scottish beauty products that you, the customer, can have complete confidence in. Our range of organic soaps, lotions and creams are both good for your skin and kind to the wider environment.
Here in Argyll, we are surrounded by a terrain carved from rock that, to this day, remains largely shrouded in ancient woodlands. Argyll is home to commanding mountain ranges running down to glistening lochs where turquoise unspoiled waters lap a myriad of hidden white sandy bays. Wherever you wander in Argyll, your senses will be regaled by magnificent views, from sunsets beyond Western Isles to the panorama of breath-taking mountain peaks and rich verdant glens.
