Privacy policy

Here at Purdie’s of Argyll Ltd., we take your privacy seriously and will only use your personal information to administer your account and to provide the products and services you have requested from us.

New EU data protection laws (the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)) come into force on 25 May 2018 and replaces the Data Protection Act 1998 in the UK. The aim of the new legislation allows European Union (EU) citizens to better control their personal data. It also modernises and unifies rules allowing businesses to reduce red tape and to benefit from greater consumer trust. The GDPR applies to ‘personal data’, which means any information relating to an identifiable person who can be directly or indirectly identified in particular by reference to an identifier.

When an individual no longer wants their data processed and there is no legitimate reason to keep it, the data will be deleted.

We, at Purdie’s of Argyll, do not automatically collect personal data about you. We do not collect information about you from other sources, such as private organisations or bodies, or public records. We do not share any personal data with any 3rd part organisation or institution, except for the purposes of processing your order as detailed above, or if required to do so by law. We don’t store personally identifiable information such as credit card details. We use information gathered from cookies to help us improve your experience of the site. For example, they help identify and resolve errors, or to determine relevant related products to show you when you are browsing but only if you choose to accept cookies. We are committed to protecting your privacy and the security of your personal information is important to us. We will always legislate and industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Protecting your privacy online is an evolving area, and accordingly we are constantly evolving the site to meet these demands.

Any changes to our privacy policy in the future will be posted to the website and, where appropriate, through e-mail notification.
